As with a number of recent weddings, I first met Sarah and Iain at a previous wedding. It was Sarah’s sisters wedding at Monkey Island a couple of years ago. This time it was Ansty Hall near Coventry for their wedding. When I spoke to Sarah during the week, she was so excited. Having finished work a few days beforehand, she not only had all the last-minute details to manage but also baked loads of cup cakes for everyone including Gluten Free ones for me and the other non wheat eaters. It’s not unusual for best men to bring out embarrassing photos of the groom but I must say that this is the first vicar that has done it! She has known Iain all his life and it was very special for them that she conducted the ceremony. Her husband also played cello while the register was signed.
There are so many images of the guests looking happy. Especially Sarah and Iain who just seemed to love the day they were having. I have said that speeches are emotional before but its rare that I have tears in my eyes during the speeches. Sarah and Iain met just weeks before Sarah had her heart surgery and the anecdote he recalled of holding her gaze as she woke in the hospital and him knowing at that moment that she was ‘the one’ had the whole room going!
Sarah’s parents never had their own first dance so Iain found out what they would have had as their song and had it played just after their first dance which was a really nice touch. Here is just a selection of images from their day. Please leave a comment or a message for Sarah and Iain below.
