Right on the Devon coast in the lovely seaside town of Braunton is the unique Ash Barton Estate. This is a beautiful and unique venue that was bought by Simon and his wife almost 10 years ago when they were looking for a “Small 2 bed cottage”. They fell in love with Ash Barton and have spent the last few years developing it into an amazing venue that not only caters for weddings but any event you care to mention!
Ash Barton Estate is yours for a whole 3 days!
I have been lucky enough to photograph weddings at many of the UK’s top wedding venues and have to say that I feel in love with the Ash Barton Estate from the first few minutes I arrived. It’s such a relaxed wedding venue and I have never seen somewhere with so many places you can get married. Most wedding venues have one or two locations where you can have your ceremony, but Ash Barton has at least 8. Simon is even thinking of having the swimming pool house as somewhere you can get married.
Choice of indoor or outside wedding ceremonies
There are options for indoor or outside weddings with my favourite location being the beautifully rustic ‘Chapel’. This is in fact an old barn that has been cleaned up yet left in its original condition. I love the texture of the walls and the light coming through the small windows is lovely. If you do prefer an outdoor ceremony, I love the fact that you can get married in the doorway of the main house with your guests on the lawn.
Not just for weddings….
Ash Barton Estate has a super relaxed atmosphere and its typically yours for 3 days. They have many mid-week weddings and with accommodation for about 40 guests. You and your closest friends and family can have a few days away in Devon with a wedding in the middle!

The Chapel is one of the many locations you can have your wedding ceremony. You can have chairs although many opt for a ‘standing room only’ option.
The new lake and the gazebo are a lovely feature in the garden of Ash Barton
These sculptured metal seats were a gift from a bride that was married at the venue
Simon recently invested in 2 km of fairly lights to decorate the roof of the barn. He made the chandeliers himself!
For an outdoor wedding, you can get married under this roof in the yard. If the weather is against you, just pop into one of the indoor options
None of your guests will ever be bored with the play room. I think my children would have stayed in there all day!
Ash Barton even comes with its own chickens!
Pets are very welcome at the estate. This is our dog Tara and she slept for the rest of the day having had free reign for a couple of hours
