A couple of years ago, I was asked to photograph a wedding in Inverness. It was a fantastic wedding and I now find myself being the destination wedding photographer for a number of weddings in Scotland. Jennifer and I had spoken but not met before her wedding, she is super organised so was very well prepared for the day. I couldn’t have been more welcomed by everyone from the moment I arrived. Something I didn’t know before I arrived is that Jen’s other half, Greig manages Stirling Albion a Scottish football team who happened to be playing Glasgow Rangers at the same time as his wedding! Greig even appeared in Sky Sports as Jennifer was having her make up done.
Wedding Photography in Scotland
Solsgirth House is a beautiful wedding venue which really suits my style of photography. Jennifer was piped into the building by a full Scottish pipe band. Jennifer and Greig had a humanist ceremony which was one of the most entertaining services I have been to. Duncan, the celebrant had written a long and entertaining passage about the two of them which had everyone laughing and crying. After the cocktail hour everyone sat for the speeches. This was perfectly timed as word just came through that Greigs team had beaten Rangers! I can’t believe how he remained so calm and it wasn’t really mentioned again. I think he wanted to ensure that it was Jennifer’s day.
As you can see, the dance floor was packed all night. Everyone was in great spirits and danced the night away. I am really looking forward to returning to Scotland again next year for another wedding.
Here is a selection of photos from their wedding. I hope you like them. Please feel free to leave your comments below or a message for the bride and groom.
